Meet Diane
I have been delivering Play Therapy to primary school children since January 2014 across Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. Prior to this I had extensive experience of Trauma Informed Practice with Infants, Children, Young People & Parents as a Family Support Worker within Sure Start Children’s Centre and Barnardos Family Centre. I have worked with children and families for over 30 years in different settings; including Early years, Primary schools, Pupil Referral Unit, Behaviour Support Team and Early Help for Local Authority Children’s Services.
Alongside my private practice I am employed with NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Berkshire, working with children and young people presenting with anxiety, depression as well as in times of crisis, self-harm and suicidal ideation together with their families.
I have three grown-up children, one of whom is Neurodiverse. I am also Nana to one grandson.
Qualifications
I am a Certified Play Therapist, Registered member with Play Therapy UK (PTUK), Registered Member with British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), and Registered with Professional Standards Authority. I have regular supervision for my work with the children & families and comply with Ethical Framework and Governance.
I have an Enhanced DBS Certificate and hold relevant professional liability insurance and am ICO compliant.
I have furthered my Professional Development as followings;

Qualified Baby Massage Instructor.
Certified AUTPlay Provider
Certification in Neurodiversity: Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills Trained.
I am a trained Parent Group Facilitator in Family Links Programmes and Working One to One with Parents and Families. I am a FREEDOM Programme facilitator and also trained in Reducing Parental Conflict.
I am currently undertaking a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) qualification and have a student membership of British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and looking forward to being able to offer this service soon.
